Brian David Kalis

It is with deep sadness that we announced the passing of Brian David Kalis, who passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2026 at the age of 67 at the Mankato Hospital. 

Brian was born on January 3, 1959 in Albert Lea to David and Pat Kalis. He grew up on a farm outside of Walters. Early in his adult life, Brian worked at the elevator in Keister. He later began selling lubricants, which led him to finding his passion in oil sales, especially aviation lubricants.

Brian enjoyed gardening, playing guitar, fishing, his cats, and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his quick wit, willingness to help others, and his ability to lighten any situation by offering a joke or story.

Brian is survived by his wife, Kim, and their three children: Andrew (Annika, Eva, Abigail and Audra); Matthew and Allyson (Aubre, Amelia and Maycee); Sarah and AJ (Morgan and Hadley); as well as his mother, Pat (sisters Joni and Sue). He was preceded in death by his father, David.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Mankato hospital. Brian will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those whose lives he touched. The celebration of life will be held at a later date.
