Boyd Robert Reese

Boyd Robert Reese passed away peacefully at his home on November 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Boyd was born to Frank and Gladys (Lundberg) Reese in Albert Lea on June 25, 1937. As a child he raised many animals, including rabbits, fish, and dogs. He was involved in Boy Scouts. During his teen years he was very fond of his 1932 Ford Coupe. Boyd also loved baseball, and in high school he lettered in track from ninth grade to twelfth grade.

He married the love of his life, Jeanene, on June 25, 1957, on his 20th birthday at First Baptist Church in Clarks Grove, Minnesota. They were blessed with five children: Dan Reese (Sandy) of Owatonna, Kristi Nelson (Ove) of Liberty, Mo, Randy Reese of Edina, Paul Reese (Angie) of Andover, and Karri Reese of Albert Lea. Boyd and Jeanene also had 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Boyd is preceded in death by his wife Jeanene Reese, parents Frank and Gladys Reese, granddaughter Jessica Reese, two grandsons Boy and Forrest Jon Bangert, and three great-grandsons, Preston, Bryce, and Dominic. 

Boyd’s siblings, Frank Reese of Chaska and Brian (Lillian) Reese of Oliver, British Columbia, Canada, were very dear to him.

As a young man Boyd joined the United States Air Force, serving in both Germany and California at Vandenberg Air Force Base. His passion for aviation continued throughout his life, culminating in achieving his pilot's license.

Boyd and Jeanene also loved to travel with their children. They had many memorable trips. One in particular was a month-long trip to the West Coast.

Boyd was a very patient father who loved his family dearly. As his children grew up, he loved taking his family camping and fishing. There are many fond memories of the family traveling with a pop-up camper. Additionally, he was employed at Streater's Manufacturing for over 38 years.

Boyd was also an active member of the Clark's Grove Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, and an active member of his adult Sunday School class. There were frequent trips to help work on the church camp in northern Minnesota. He later passed his lifeguard training to help at the church camp. He sang in the church choir and had many solos.

In their retirement years, Boyd and Jeanene enjoyed wintering in Alamo, Texas. While in Texas, Boyd enjoyed playing cribbage, horseshoes, and helping others with their projects.

A celebration of life will occur on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Bonnerup Funeral and Cremation Services at 2:00PM Albert Lea, Minnesota.
