Ardella "Della" Skogheim

Ardella Jean (Johnson) Skogheim passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at Thorne Crest Senior Living Community, surrounded by her loving family. Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea.  Visitation will take place Wednesday from 5 – 7 PM at Bonnerup Funeral Service, and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Della was born March 5, 1936 in Freeborn County to Charles and Dorothy (Blowers) Johnson.  She was raised on a farm between Albert Lea and Austin and attended school in Freeborn County.  On August 22, 1953, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Skogheim and to this union, four children were born.

She worked various jobs and retired from Thorne Crest in 1987.

Della enjoyed Elvis music and movies, Tom Jones, dancing, reading, word search puzzles, camping, playing cards, but mostly, time spent with her family.  She loved babysitting all her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Johnson and Dorothy and LaVerne Cotter; sister, Beverly (Adam) Weigel; and two granddaughters, Gabrielle Johnson and Kristin Lee.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Kenneth; children, Ken (Deb) Skogheim, Dave (Sue) Skogheim, Theresa (Craig) Knudtson, and Steve (Char) Skogheim; grandchildren, Wendy (Mike) Snyder, Amy (Jeremy) Schuman, Angie (Justin) Fisher, Bryan (Bethany) Skogheim, Brad Skogheim (special friend, Julie) Jeff (Andrea) Knudtson, Ty Skogheim, and Crystal Skogheim (special friend, Tyler); 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; and many nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends.

The family would like to thank Thorne Crest and Mayo Clinic Hospice for the great care of their mom!
