Quentin Erwin Matson was born on July 2, 1946 in Albert Lea, MN to Roy and Lola (Savage) Matson.  He attended country school near Hayward, MN and went to Albert Lea High School.  At the age of 17, Quentin enlisted in the United States Navy.  He was aboard the USS Valley Forge.  Quentin served our country for four years until his honorable discharge.

On May 29, 1971, he was united in marriage to Patricia (Spilde) in Hayward, MN.  To this union, three children were born.  The couple called Albert Lea home.

Quentin spent most of his career as a truck driver.  He started out working for his father at Matson Trucking, and was most recently driving truck for Bosshart Trucking until his retirement at the age of 62.  He was a member of the American Legion and DAV.  In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping with family and friends, and being outdoors.  He enjoyed going to his children’s sporting events.  Quentin had a tight knit group of friends, always staying close to his very good friends Virgil, Jim, and Ronnie.  In these last few years, Quentin gained a special bond with his youngest son, Roy, and enjoyed spending quality time with him.
