Nancy Lynn (Cook) was born on June 13, 1952 in Albert Lea, MN to Phillip and Elizabeth (McLaughlin) Cook. She graduated from Northwood-Kensett High School in 1970. Nancy continued her education at the University of Iowa, graduating from the Radiology Program. Her work took her to Rochester, MN, where she made her home and raised her family. Nancy worked as a CT Technician for Mayo Clinic in Rochester; serving many people throughout her career. She would retire after 40 years of dedicated service. After her retirement, she would move to New Hampshire for a few years, where she helped in the ministry by working in new churches.
Nancy was very faithful and devoted, serving many roles in the churches she attended. From writing, singing, volunteering, and much more, Nancy used all of her of talents to glorify her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Nancy was a very accomplished writer – self publishing her own book and frequently updating her blog. When she wasn’t writing, she would often sing whenever she could – and what a beautiful gift she had! A few things come to mind when you think of Nancy: loyal, dependable, generous, and someone who always searched for the good in everybody. Above all, she was loving and caring.
She is preceded in death by both parents and grandparents.
Those left to carry on her legacy include her children, Theresa (Carl) Blizzard of MN, Timothy (Kara) McAtee of CA, Hannah McAtee of MN, Michael (Valerie) Watrud of MN, and Abigail Watrud of MN; grandchildren, Carissa and Caitlynn Blizzard, Twyla and Hayden McAtee, Noah and Isaac Watrud; siblings, JoAnne (Allan) Kappmeyer of IA, Steve (Judy) Cook of MN, Sue Balduf of IA, and Charles (Monica) Cook of IA; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
Blessed be her memory!
