Funeral services for Marilyn J. Janssen of Albert Lea, MN, will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the Bonnerup Funeral service Chapel in Albert Lea, MN. Pastor Dwight Netzer will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Graceland cemetery. Marilyn died Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the Thorne Crest Retirement Center in Albert Lea. She was 81 years of age. Marilyn was born August 31, 1936 in Waterloo, Iowa the daughter of William (Fred) and Evalyn (Peterson) Carson. She was a graduate of Albert Lea High School. On January 17, 1958 she was united in marriage to Ray Janssen in Albert Lea. Marilyn lived most of her life in Albert Lea and a short time in St. Paul. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and had been employed for over 25 years at Church Offset Printing in Albert Lea. Marilyn was a member of the Harley Owners Group and enjoyed riding with her husband. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. Marilyn is survived by her daughters Jeanne (Jim) Forman of Burnsville, MN, Deb (Jim) Hefte of Rochester, MN, Julie Janssen of Albert Lea, MN, grandchildren Michelle (Ricardo) Muggli, Holly (Scott) Petersen, Chris (Lindsay) Forman, Caitlin Marcaccini, Sam Hefte, Codie Janssen, Chelsea Janssen and nine beloved great grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister Valerie (Chuck) Wilson of Albert Lea, MN, sisters in law Wilhelmine Janssen of Granada, MN, Bonnie Carson of Albert Lea, MN, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ray in 2012 and brother Ronnie Carson.
