Selma Bryan

December 2, 1919 — February 28, 2015

Funeral services for Selma E. Bryan will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Grace Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Reverend Janet White will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5 - 7 PM on Wednesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea as well as one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place at Lakewood Cemetery.

Selma was born on December 2, 1919 to William and Bertha (Bleck) Kuether, in Wells, MN. She attended and graduated high school from Minnesota Lake in 1939. On May 13, 1942, Selma was united in marriage to James V. Bryan in Missouri. The couple was blessed with four children.

Selma worked as a dietician for the hospital in Albert Lea for 14 years. She also cleaned houses for people before she would go to work for the hospital. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where she was involved in Circle. Selma was also a part of the VFW Auxiliary. In her free time, Selma enjoyed sewing, quilting, camping and traveling. She loved to bake, and was known for her delicious cinnamon rolls. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

Selma is preceded in death by her parents, William (Bertha) Kuether; husband, James Bryan; son, Ray; son, Steven in infancy; siblings, Margaret Kuether, Wanda Beagles, Ernest Kuether and Arthur Kuether.

She is survived by her son, Ron (Linda) Bryan, daughter Nancy (Kenny) Boyer, all of Albert Lea; grandchildren, Angela Ray (Greg) Sprick of Hager City, WI, Mike (Joann) Pick of Long Branch, MN, Bridget (Aric) Leonheart of Henderson, NV, Brooke Riley and fiancé Matt Zank, of Bloomington, MN, Brie (Mike) Kinney of Champlin, MN, Dustin (Jess) Boyer of Albert Lea, Tanya (Pete) Hosfield of Sauk Rapids, MN, Brendon (Teri) Bryan of St. Cloud, MN, Lance (Carrie) Bryan of Lakeville, MN; great-grandchildren: Cody Hoffman, Nevaeh, Owen and Aiden Kinney, Cassie and Robin Hosfield, Eian Bryan, Logan Zank, Cory Grimsley, Liliana Stenzel, Dagen Jacobs, Chris, Ben, Jacob, Noah, Micah, and Sam Pick; great-great-granddaughter, Rian Grimsley; as well as several nieces and nephews.
