Obituary: Reva Anderson



A celebration of life and a memorial service for Reva E. Anderson is scheduled at First Lutheran Church on Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at 3:00p.m. The family will greet you at Bonnerup Funeral Service on Monday, February 16, 2004 from 5-7 p.m. and one hour before service at the church. She was 71 years old. Reva died Monday, February 9, 2004 at the Albert Lea Medical Center.



Reva was born on October 30, 1932 in Faribault Co. to Thomas and Julia (Reinlsoder) Sonksen. Raised on farms near Walters and Conger. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. In 1944 she moved to Albert Lea with her family and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1950. She worked at the family business, ?Lakeside CafAsh? and Olson MFG. Co. On September 20, 1953 she married her classmate, Roger E. Anderson of Hartland, MN. They lived and worked on the family dairy farm until 1984. Reva and Roger had two daughters, Linda Sue Anderson and Lavon Kay Anderson. They have always been their pride and joy. Reva helped in the girls activities, music lessons, PTA, room mother, church, confirmation and class outings. Reva loved music and sang a lot. She was active in church choirs and community groups for 40 years and was a charter member of the ?Cantori? Choir for 10 years. She volunteered her time at First Lutheran Church office, active in Altar Guild, Circle #4, Caring & Sharing and Bible Studies. Besides music she liked cooking, cross word puzzles, news programs, reading, cards and game shows. Highlights were her traveling with Roger to many National Parks. She especially loved traveling with the whole family to Washington, DC, Paris and Canada.

She returned to work in Albert Lea in 1984 at Green Lea Golf Course and 17 years at ?Northpark?.



She is survived by her husband, Roger, daughters: Linda Sue Anderson and son-in-law, Timothy Hammett of Minneapolis, MN, Lavon Kay Anderson of Canada and some very dear friends and relatives.



She was preceded in death by her parents, in-laws, Milton and Helen Anderson, and a much loved son-in-law, Lane Daley as well as other relatives and friends.
