Raymona Louise (White) Larson, age 73, of rural Albert Lea, died peacefully on Friday, June 11, 2010, at the Lake Mills Care Center in Lake Mills, Iowa, as a result of her recent diagnosis of cancer. Raymona was born on September 13, 1936, in Nunda Township in rural Albert Lea, the daughter of Ray and Louise White. She attended country school until 8th grade, and then continued her high school career in Emmons, graduating in 1954. She then went on to Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, earning a degree in Elementary Education. She began her lifelong career of teaching in Emmons Public School in 1956, teaching 2nd and 3rd grade. Raymona received her bachelor's degree from Mankato State University at the age of 58. She was a substitute teacher in the Emmons and Glenville school districts from 1977 until her illness in February 2010. Raymona was united in marriage to R. David Larson on April 17, 1960, at Concordia Bear Lake Lutheran Church. It was at this time that Raymona put her teaching career on hold to dedicate full time her expertise and knowledge to develop their livelihood, Larcrest Holsteins. David and Raymona raised 5 children on the farm they so proudly built from the ground up. She was a lifelong member of Concordia Bear Lake Lutheran Church, and found great joy in serving and volunteering in every aspect of her church. She was always a woman of great faith and lived her life according to the Word she so strongly believed in. Raymona will always be remembered for her willingness to nurture every living thing, seeing them all as God's precious creations. She was also active in 4-H, serving as a leader for many years. She dedicated her entire life to her family, and her greatest happiness came from her children and grandchildren. Surviving her are her children; Mark and his wife Mary, and their children, Tara Braden and Brock; Jon and his wife Ann, and their son, Tyler; Linda Saxton and her children, Chase, Bridget, and Lydia; Lori and her fiancé Pete Alexander, and their daughter, Presley; Son-in-law Al Cowles, and his daughters, Victoria, Christina and Alexa. Also her sisters-in-law Donna White, Dorothy Larson, and Marion Larson; brothers-in-law Luverne Larson, Curtis Larson, and Sterling Larson, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, David, in 2006, daughter Carolyn in 2003; parents, brother Richard White, and several brothers and sisters in law. We will never forget our loving Mother and Grandmother, her infinite wisdom, her positive outlook and her loving, gentle ways. Blessed be her memory.
