Randy Holland

Funeral services for Randall "Randy" L. Holland will be held at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Albert Lea. The Reverend Curtis Zieske will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM on Tuesday at the Bonnerup Funeral Chapel, Albert Lea and again one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at St. Theodore Catholic Cemetery.
Randy passed away on September 12, 2014 at his home.
Randy was born on February 24, 1942 to Kenneth and Carrie (Skilbred) Holland in Forest City, IA. He was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith. Randy graduated from Forest City High School. He began his college career at Waldorf College for two years, and later transferred to the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls where he graduated with a bachelor's degree. Randy was a resident of Glenville from 1969-1995, and then moved to Albert Lea where he currently lived. He was employed as a Computer Operations Manager at Wilsons/Farmstead/Seaboard and later worked in accounts receivable at ABG.
Randy was blessed with three children: Dale, Sara and step-daughter Christie. Dale and Sara's mother and Randy's first wife, Alice passed away in 1992. Randy was later united in marriage to Joan (Schumm) on September 16, 1995 at First Lutheran Church in Glenville.
Randy enjoyed many things in life, especially spending time with his immediate and large extended family. He enjoyed fishing, reading, fixing things, and he liked to work with computers. Randy was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and sang in the church choir. In his earlier years, he was a member of the Glenville City Council, a member of the Moose Club, a church council member of First Lutheran Church in Glenville and later a council member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. Randy was a wonderful man that loved his family. He was a very patient, giving, and caring person.
He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Alice; grandson, Sam Holland; brother, Norbert Holland; sister, Ina Lester; and brother-in-law, Virgil Isebrand.
Those left to cherish Randy's memory include his loving wife, Joan Holland, of Albert Lea; children, Dale (Lisa) Holland, of Farmington, MN, Sara (Michael) McLane, of Aplington, IA, and Christie (Ryan) Kroells of Rosemount, MN; granddaughter, Mara Kroells; siblings, Jerry (Winnie) Holland and Neoma Isebrand; as well as so many other loving relatives and friends.
