Muriel Arlene Shaunce, 90, of Albert Lea, died on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Albert Lea. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at the Bonnerup Funeral Chapel. The Reverend Mark Boorsma will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Interment will take place at the Geneva Cemetery.
Muriel was born on August 2, 1924 in Ellendale, MN. She was the daughter of Albert and Helen (Brynestad) Sorenson. She grew up in the Ellendale area where she attended school. She worked at home as a homemaker.
On December 7, 1952, Muriel was united in marriage to Glenn Shaunce at the Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, NV. The coupled traveled a lot in their motor home and went to Texas for many winters. When she was back here during the summer months, she loved to sit out in her front yard and wave at the cars driving by. She also liked to sew while listening to Classic Country Radio, collect various knick-knacks and dolls, and enjoyed her coffee get-togethers with her friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn; parents; son, Conrad Jensen; siblings, Luella Nelson, Marlys Sorenson, Howard Sorenson, and Donald Sorenson.
Muriel is survived by her son, Larry Shaunce of Albert Lea; grandchildren, Christina Jensen and Cindy Kilby; siblings, Bernetta Hanson, of Albert Lea, Margaret (Clifford) Otterson, of Albert Lea, Donna Guevara, of Albert Lea, Richard (Linda) Sorenson, of Waseca, and Raymond Olson, of California; a sister in-law, Audrey Sorenson; as well as many loving nieces, nephews and other relatives. She is loved by all, and will be sadly missed.
