Mabel Miller

The funeral service for Mabel "Mab" K. Miller will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, April 11, 2005 at St. Theodore Catholic Church. The Reverend John Traufler will officiate. Burial will be Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Bonnerup Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.



Mabel died on Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at Albert Lea Medical Center. She was 94 years old.



Mabel was born on July 1, 1910 in LeSueur County, Minnesota, the daughter of Stephen and Mary (Rheaume) Kendall. She was a 1928 graduate of St. Theodore High School and attended Albert Lea Business School.



On February 20, 1939 Mabel was united in marriage with John B. Miller in Albert Lea. John was killed in the Pacific Theater in 1944 while serving in the U. S. Army as a 2nd Lt.



Mabel was a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church and was active in CCW. She worked for Norwest Bank in Albert Lea for 27 years.



Mabel was an avid golfer and was a charter member of the Minnesota Women?s Bowling Association, Albert Lea Women?s Bowling Association, had been inducted into the Minnesota Women?s Bowling Association Hall of Fame, and served as President of the MWBA for 9 years and the Albert Lea Bowling League for 25 years. She was also a member of Green Lea Ladies Golf Club and the Albert Lea Elks Club.



Mabel is survived by one daughter, Susan (Chad) Jewett of Eagan, MN; two granddaughters: Erin Jewett and Brenna (Tim) Atz of West St. Paul, MN; three great grandsons: Ryan, Christopher and Joshua Atz of West St. Paul, MN; two cousins: MaryEtta Wolf of Albert Lea, MN and Helen (Sam) Gonzalez of Bloomington, MN; one brother-in-law, Paul (Ione) Miller of Florida; nieces and nephews.



She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John in 1944; one sister, Natalie Gunderson, one brother, John Kendall.



In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made to the National Federation of the Blind or charity of choice.
