Funeral services for Lucille "Lucy" E Hansen will be held on Monday, April 22nd at 11 am at First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. Pastor John Holt will officiate. Interment in Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery, Myrtle, MN. Visitation from 3-5 on Sunday at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea as well as one hour prior to the service at church.
Lucille Hansen passed away on Friday April 19, 2013 at Thorne Crest Retirement Center in Albert Lea. She was 92 years old.
Lucy was born on October 9, 1920 in Shellrock Township. The daughter of Herman and Hanna (Newmann) Struck, she was baptized on November 7, 1920 and confirmed on May 13, 1934 at the Bethlehem Church in Myrtle, MN by Pastor Staehling. Lucy graduated from Albert Lea High School and went on to work at REA in Albert Lea. In the 1940's she moved to San Francisco, CA where she was a parish worker at Trinity Lutheran Church. In 1955 she moved to Minneapolis where she worked at the Evangelical Lutheran Church Headquarters, and eventually to Bethlehem Lutheran Church. On August 7, 1976 she was united in marriage to Hans Hansen in Minneapolis. She retired and moved back to Albert Lea with Hans.
Lucy was a member of First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. She was a part of the Eastern Star, Women's Auxiliary of the Shriners, VFW Auxiliary, Tuesday Club, and was the First Lutheran President of the Women's Group. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, and entertaining.
Lucy held a spot in her heart for her family, related or not, and had a hug and a kiss for everyone.
She is survived by her children, Beth (Jeff) Lunn of Pennock, MN, and John Hansen of Aurora, CO; granddaughter, Kelly; many loving nieces and nephews; and dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Hanna Struck; husband, Hans "Al" Hansen; brother, Martin Struck; three sisters, Nadine Seeger, Dorothy Hegland, and Agnes Dieterich; and daughter in law, Stephanie Hansen.
Remembrances may be given to First Lutheran's Peace and Power or the radio fund.
