Remembering the life of Lucian "Luke" S. Trumble..



The Funeral Service for Lucian "Luke" S. Trumble of Albert Lea will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 27, 2007 at the First Presbyterian Church, Albert Lea. The Reverend Dwight Netzer will officiate. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded by Albert Lea Veteran's Organizations. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea. There will be no reviewal at the church.

Luke died on Monday, December 24, 2007 at the Albert Lea Medical Center.

He was 84.

He was born on September 6, 1923, in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Seymour and Sadie (Okeson) Trumble. He graduated from Central High School in Minneapolis in 1943.

Luke enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1943. While in Aviation School in Hutchinson, Kansas, he met Mary Gilley. They were married in Hutchinson, Kansas on

May 22, 1944. Following his discharge from the service they returned to Minneapolis and Luke went to work for Standard Oil. They lived in Willmar, MN from 1950 until 1965, when they made Albert Lea their home.

Luke retired from Standard Oil in 1979, but he and Mary had also began operating the Standard CafAC. in 1967. In 1984, they built Trumbles Family Restaurant which opened in 1985.

He enjoyed spending time at the restaurant visiting with customers and employees, especially in his later years.

Lucian was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Elks Club, Eagles Club, and the American Legion.

He and Mary had enjoyed fishing, traveling, wintering in Arizona, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by two children: Barb and her husband Pat O'Connor of Albert Lea, Mike Trumble of Minneapolis; grandson Ryan O'Connor of Albert Lea; sister

Jean and her husband John Chamberlain of Minneapolis, step brother David Trumble of North Carolina several nieces and nephews.



He was preceded in death by his wife Mary in 2003, his father, Seymour, his mother Sadie, his step mother Doris Marie, his sister Doris Brickley.



Luke will be greatly missed by his family.
