Memorial services for Linda Marie Boleneus will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 13, 2016 at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea. Chaplain Don Malinsky will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Linda M. Boleneus passed away on May 9, 2016 at St. John's Lutheran Home in Albert Lea at the age of 68. Linda was born on July 20, 1947 to Thomas and Ida (Lyngaas) Henderson in Albert Lea, Minnesota. She was raised on a farm in Silver Lake Township and baptized & confirmed at Sion Lutheran Church, rural Lake Mills, Iowa. In 1965, Linda graduated from Lake Mills High School and went on to graduate from University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. Linda lived in Clear Lake, Iowa for a number of years before settling back in the Albert Lea and Lake Mills area.
While working, Linda was a teacher and a social worker. She held various positions at Brookside School, ALC, and Freeborn County Human Services. She started and ran the surrogate program and was also very involved in the Teen Parent Program.
Linda married Ronald 'Rudy' Rognes on March 27, 1999 in Las Vegas. They made their home on a farm near Bear Lake. In her free time, Linda enjoyed spending time reading, dancing, singing, shopping, and being with her numerous dogs. Linda liked to entertain friends and family on various occasions- from Easter egg hunts for the children to large family Christmas dinners. All were welcomed in to her home graciously.
Linda is survived by her husband, Ronald 'Rudy' Rogness; daughter, Lisa (Perry) Satullo of Albert Lea; grandchildren, Alicia (Nick) Hoiseth of Lake Mills, Nick Kuhlemeier of Albert Lea; great-grandson, Chambers Hoiseth; sisters, Irene Bock of Albert Lea, Hazel Willert of Lake Mills, Virginia Peterson of Albert Lea, Terry (Patrick) Cunningham of Twin Lakes; brother, Tom (Susan) Henderson of Owatonna; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Ida Henderson; sisters, Helen and Karen; brother-in-law, Bob; nieces and nephews, Brandon, Krystal, Jaydon, and Kristina.
