LEAH MARTIN SKOPHAMMER OBITUARY…







The memorial service for Leah Martin Skophammer will be at 1:30 PM Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at First Lutheran Church , Albert Lea. Pastor John Holt will officiate.



Interment will be in the East Freeborn Lutheran Cemetery . Visitation will be 5-7 PM Monday at Bonnerup Funeral Service.





Leah died Thursday, August 28, 2008 at Oak Park Place , Albert Lea. She



was 95 years old.





Leah was born in Benton , Arkansas on March 30, 1913, the daughter of Napoleon and Nettie (Vance) Martin. She graduated from Little Rock High School and from Henderson State University in Arkadelphia , AR.



Leah was married to Joseph M. Skophammer on December 22, 1944 in Little Rock , AR.



Leah taught in the elementary school in Crawfordsville , AR. She has lived in Albert Lea since 1945. Leah has been an active member of First Lutheran Church , where she also taught Sunday School.



Leah was a member of the Does, PTA, a Girl Scout leader and a board member of Farmers State Bank. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family.





Leah is survived by her children: Nancy Skophammer of Albert Lea, MN, Diane (Tom) Stockwell of Burnsville, MN, Mary Jo (David) Wilcox of Olympia, WA; grandchildren: Keith Wilcox, Ellen Wilcox (Peter Lane), Joe (Diana) Wilcox, Melissa Stockwell, Laura Stockwell; Great Granddaughter, Josephine Lane; sister: Inez Martin of Little Rock, AR; sister-in-law: Elizabeth Martin of Dallas, TX; nieces and nephews.





Leah was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers: Vance and Jim Martin.





Memorials can be given to American Cancer Society, Crossroads Community Hospice, or First Lutheran Church .
