Irvin W. Armstrong Obituary



The funeral service for Irvin W. Armstrong of Hartland, MN will be held at 2:00 PM Wedneday,

November 26, 2003, at Cross of Glory Lutheran Church, Hartland, MN. Pastor Dennis Frank will officiate. Interment will be in Hartland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Tuesday at the Friedrich Funeral Home, New Richland, MN.



Irvin died on Monday, November 24, 2003 at Good Samaritan Center, Albert Lea. He was

88 years old.



Irvin was born in Hartland, MN, on July 13, 1915, the son of Wallace and Inga (Nelson) Armstrong. He graduated from New Richland High School in 1934. Irvin was a life time resident of Hartland. He married Gilma Daffinrud in March of 1942. Irvin was a member of Cross of Glory Lutheran Church. He served on various church boards and sang in the church choir. Irvin farmed all of his life. He also was a school bus driver for 32 years for the New Richland Schools. He was also proud of driving the bus for the football state champion team in 1978. Irvin was a boy scout and 4-H leader.

He enjoyed music and spending time visiting with family and friends. He enjoyed black cars and the challenge of keeping them clean. He drove his 1973 Cadillac to Albert Lea every day.



Irvin is survived by his wife, Gilma; children: Bruce Armstrong of Hartland, MN, Nancy and husband, Dennis Jensen of Apple Valley, MN; grandchildren: Jennifer and husband, Brad Becker of Cannon Falls, MN, Jason Jensen of Apple Valley, MN; great grandchild: Annabella Becker.



Irvin was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, Tamara Jensen in 1976.
