IONE ARLENE HANSON OBITUARY….

The funeral service for Ione Arlene Hanson of Albert Lea , MN will be held at 1:30 PM Sunday, August 31, 2008 at First Lutheran Church , Albert Lea. Pastor John Holt will officiate. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery . Visitation will be from 4 until 6 PM Saturday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea , and one hour prior to the service at the church. There will be an Eastern Star Service at 7:00 PM Saturday evening.

Ione died on Thursday, August 28, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Center surrounded by the love of her family. She was 87 years old.

Ione was born in Shellrock Township , MN on December 18, 1920, the daughter of Alex and Elsie (Wilde) Will. She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1938. Ione was married to Alvin G. Hanson on September 24, 1942 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church , Myrtle, MN. Ione was a member of First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea and the Mission Circle 19. Ione was a Sunday School Teacher and Youth Choir Director. Ione was employed in the Freeborn County License Center starting in 1947 and retired in 1985 as Deputy County Registrar after 38 years. She was very active in the Eastern Star having held many offices. Ione was also a member of the American Legion and VFW Auxiliary.

Ione enjoyed playing bridge, crossword puzzles, counted cross stitch, camping and fishing, summers up north, and especially spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ione is survived by her children: Jo Weller of Maplewood, MN, Ginny (Gary) Thompson of Albert Lea, MN, Deb (Dan) Kenison of Ellendale, MN, Mary (Larry) Seltun of Albert Lea, MN; son-in-law: Gary Young of Waseca, MN; grandchildren: Anthony (Kris) Weller, Jennifer(Kevin) Lee, Kari (Tom) Larson, Jill (Jim) Johnson, Marni (Jason) Esse, Matt (Marsha) Cichos, Molly (Matt) Tuttrup, Becky (Robin) Luevano, Alex Kenison, Jolyn (Aaron) Anderson, Laurie Seltun (Tim Schultz), Tom Seltun, Dale Lowthian; Great Grandchildren: Andrew, Anna, Allison, Nick, Jake, Ellie, Luke, Jake, Kylee, Teagan, Brenna, Brandon, Mia, Tony, Piper, Tyler, Ben; sister-in-law: Betty Hanson, brother in law and his wife Vernon (Rhoda) Hanson; Nieces and Nephews.

Ione was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alvin; daughter, Susan Young; son-in-law, Nick Weller; brothers, Arnold and Lloyd; sisters, Gladys and Naomi.
