Harriet Broskoff

November 21, 1924 — January 3, 2017

Funeral services for Harriet I. Broskoff will be held at 11 AM Saturday January 7, 2017 at East Freeborn Lutheran Church. Reverend Matt Griggs will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Friday January 6th at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea. A private burial will take place in East Freeborn Cemetery.

Harriet I. Thompson was born November 21, 1924 to parents Herbert C. and Ida A. (Hoverson) Thompson at their home in rural Freeborn County. She graduated from Albert Lea High School and has lived in the area her whole life. For a few years, Harriet held jobs as a bookkeeper for Wilson's and as a dietary aide at the hospital.

On April 23, 1944, Harriet married Aleck G. Broskoff. The majority of her life was spent working alongside her husband Aleck on their farm. She was a wonderful cook and loving mother to her three daughters. She was also involved with 4H when her daughters were growing up. Faith and family were Harriet's biggest priorities. She was a lifelong member at East Freeborn Lutheran Church and was very active with the Ladies Aide and Luther League.

Harriet I. Broskoff passed away Tuesday January 3, 2017 at St. John's Lutheran Community at the age of 92.

Survivors include her daughters, Judy (Larry) Olson and Julie (Steve) Jerdee; son-in-law, Howard (Pat) Wilkins; grandchildren, Gina Gullickson, Angie (Gary) Langerud, Steve (Sonya) Olson, Jerred (Tammy) Jerdee, Jamie (Ann) Jerdee, Justis (Aude) Wilkins, Julian (Toiya) Wilkins; great-grandchildren, Dalton, Daniel (Jessica), Lexi (Joel), Amanda (Tyler), Ashley (Brandon), Mariah, Jordon (Emily), Cody, Ethan, Cole, Ella, Jackson, Benjamin, Chloe, Marley, Daija, England; 9 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Palmer Thompson, Earl (Bev) Thompson, Paul (Mary) Thompson, David (Marlene) Thompson; sisters, Grace Arneson and Elaine Erickson; as well as several other relatives and friends.

Harriet was preceded in death by her husband, Aleck; parents, Herbert and Ida; daughter, Jaynee Wilkins; brothers and sisters, Howard Thompson, Everett Thompson, Dorothy Jerdee, Wally Thompson, and Carol Bottelson and their spouses; and Randy Jensen.
