Francis D. Schmidthuber obituary
The funeral service for Francis D. Schmidthuber of Emmons, MN will be held at
10:30 AM on Monday, June 7, 2004, at Emmons Lutheran Church. Pastor Julie
Fiske will officiate. Interment will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery, Emmons, MN.
Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Sunday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea and
one hour before service at the church. Military honors will be accorded by the Emmons American Legion.
Francis died June 1, 2004, at his home in Emmons, MN. He was 64 years old.
Francis was born in Emmons, MN on November 4, 1939, the son of Horace and Charlotte (Larsen) Schmidthuber. He graduated from Emmons High School. Francis was married to Sharon Thompson on December 31, 1963 at the Emmons Lutheran Church. He had been a resident of Emmons all his life. Francis served his country in the US Army. He was a member of Emmons Lutheran Church where he had been very active.
Francis had been a USDA Meat Inspector for 33 years, with Wilson & Co, Albert Lea and Hormel, Austin. He also farmed with his father for many years.
Francis was a member of the American Legion in Emmons. He was very active in the community and enjoyed helping others. Francis enjoyed restoring old tractors. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed fishing and spending time doing all sorts of farm work, snowmobiling and especially working in his garden.
Francis? greatest love was his family and was very involved with his grandchildren.
Francis is survived by his 3 children: Darren Schmidthuber of Colorado Springs, CO,
Jason Schmidthuber and wife, Amy of Denver, CO, and Melissa Arispe of Mason City, IA; mother: Charlotte Schmidthuber of Lake Mills, IA.; grandchildren: Kennedy and Lyv Arispe of Mason City, IA; sisters: Diane (Leo) Kennedy of Kansas City, KS, Sue (Don) Longhurst of Grinnell, IA; many nieces and nephews.
Francis was preceded in death by his father; wife, Sharon.
He will be missed by all who knew and loved him so dearly.
