Remembering the life of Eugene G. "Gene" Beenken....
The Funeral Service for Eugene G. "Gene" Beenken of Albert Lea, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at Salem Lutheran Church, Albert Lea.
The Reverend Jay Dahlvang will officiate. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. on Monday at
Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea and one hour before the service at the church.
Eugene died on Friday, December 2, 2005 at the Good Samaritan Center in
Albert Lea. He was 93.
He was born May 1st, 1912, on the family farm south of Lakota, Iowa. As a
young man he had worked as a farm hand, a mechanic, and a truck driver.
He was united in marriage to Evelyn M. O'Rourke on April 24th, 1942, in Northwood, Iowa. After their marriage they made their home in Albert Lea.
Eugene started working at Wilson/Farmstead, and remained there until
his retirement. He will be greatly missed by his wife Evelyn, son Greg and wife Jeanette, grandson Logan Beenken, granddaughter Kelly Dempewolf and husband
Casey, two great grandchildren Mallory and Markus, sister Elizabeth Edwards,
brother Heiko Beenken and wife Mary.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Barbara Reichl, three brothers, one sister, five half brothers, one half sister.
