The funeral service for Eleanor Rodriques of Albert Lea , Minnesota will be 3:00 p.m. Friday at Thornecrest Retirement Chapel, Albert Lea , Minnesota . The Reverend Jamie Cameron will officiate. Interment will be in Clarks Grove Baptist Cemetery , Clarks Grove , Minnesota , Visitation will be one hour before the service at Thornecrest.





Eleanor died Friday, May 29, 2009 at Thornecrest Retirement Center . She was 96 years old.





Eleanor was born September 27, 1912 at Mapleton , Maine to Thomas E. and Elizabeth (Carter) Dow. She graduated from Mapleton High School , Aroostook State Normal School , Gordon College of Theology and Missions and one year at Northern Baptist Seminary. She taught school in Maine for five years. Eleanor served as a Missionary in Cuba from 1941 – 1961, she then was a teacher and House Mother. She taught Sunday School in Cuba . She married Dr. Oscar Rodriquez on August 29, 1964.from 1912 to 1941 she lived in Maine then from 1941 – 1961 Cuba and from 1964 – 1969Puerto Rico, then Connecticut and came to Albert Lea in 1975. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Clarks Grove, member of the Red Hat Society and was Queen Mother of the Society.





Eleanor is survived by a step-son: Oscar Earl Rodriquez and his wife Gina of Puerto Rico, step-daughter: Eli Boyun of St. Paul , Minnesota ; 8 step Grandchildren, 4 step great grandchildren. Sister: Erma Knox and her husband Ghernot of Haverhill, Massachusetts.





Eleanor is preceded in death by her parents; husband: Dr. Oscar Rodriquez; seven brothers, 3 sisters.
