Obituary: Elaine Chavez
The funeral service for Elaine Chavez of Albert Lea, MN will be held at 2:00 P.M.
Monday, March 29, 2004, at Bonnerup Funeral Chapel, Albert Lea. Pastor Lee Freshour
will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before service at the chapel. Interment will
be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Elaine past away peacefully Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at her home. She was 77 years old.
Elaine was born in EbbwVale, South Wales, Great Britain, October 31, 1926, the
daughter of Albert and Violet (White) Barnes. She was married to Tony Chavez on April 14, 1945, in EbbwVale. They moved to Albert Lea in 1946. Elaine was
a dedicated mother and wife and her life centered around her family. She enjoyed cooking, was an avid reader and loved animals. She will be remembered for her great sense of humor.
Elaine is survived by her husband, Tony; children: Tonette Carmeli of Shoreview, MN, Linda Hildreth of Arden Hills, MN, Jeffrey Chavez and wife, Darla of Dallas, TX; 5 grandchildren: Troy, Chris, Jodi,
Judd and Mandy; one sister: June Davis.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Brendon.
Elaine was a very compassionate person to everyone she met. She will be missed by
her family and friends.
