Remembering the life of Edna Goette
The Funeral Service for Edna Marcella Goette of Albert Lea, will be
held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 4, 2004 at at the First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. Pastor Dan Baker will officiate.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea, and one hour before the service at the church.
Mrs. Goette died on Sunday, August 1, 2004 at the St. John's Lutheran
Home. She was 84.
She was born on June 17, 1920, in Browns Valley, Minnesota the daughter of Albert and Rose (Schuanaman) Oletzke. She attended
country school in South Dakota.
She married Henry "Hank" C. Goette on August 29, 1936, at the Pickeral Lake Lutheran Church, rural Albert Lea. Following
their marriage they made their home in Albert Lea.
Edna was an awesome seamstress and made wedding gowns, prom
dresses, baptismal outfits and clothing for many people.
She was always on hand to mend and tailor her families clothing.
She worked as a salesclerk at Herbergers for 20 years, retiring in 1989.
She had been an active member of the First Lutheran Church.
She volunteered for many community activities including the Naeve Hospital Auxiliary.
Edna enjoyed golfing, crocheting, needlepoint, and will long be remembered for her cooking and baking talents which she
shared with all her family and friends.
Edna is survived by her daughter Jeanine Weitzel of Albert Lea; two
granddaughters Joette and her husband Mark Burton of Albert Lea, Kathy and her husband David Ulrich of Clarks Grove, MN.,
greatgrandchildren: Amy Holland of Clarks Grove,
Shara and her husband John Mickelsen of Albert Lea, Matthew
Baas and his wife Andrea of Twin Lakes, Jacob and Tyler Baas
of Albert Lea, Joseph Wurst and Cole Ulrich of Clarks Grove, MN.,
great great grandchildren: Jes and Makanzie Holland of Albert Lea,
Taylor, Brittany, Shelby and Riley Mickelsen of Albert Lea,
Roselind and Madalynn Baas of Albert Lea, sister Viola Goette of Albert Lea, brother Howard Oletzke and his wife Pat of Las Vegas, NV., and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Henry "Hank"
Goette, and son-in-law Raymond F. Weitzel.
