Edith J. Harpestad, 75, died on Friday, September 23, 2016 at her home on Maplehill Drive in Albert Lea.
She had just recently moved from Wells, MN. She was born on January 12, 1941, in Brush Creek, Minnesota, the daughter of Edward and Hilka (Winter) Knutson. Edith worked for many years at Swift Eckrich in Wells until she retired. She was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan and owl collector. She loved to plant flowers and watch birds. Her family appreciated her good sense of humor. Edith married Gene R. Harpestad, in 1976. He preceded her in death. She is survived by her 4 children: Becky Meyer (Ray) of Wells, Bill (Bardoe) Bluhm of Wells, Deb Bluhm (Daneth) of Alden, Tjay Harpestad (Michelle)of Wells. 5 Grandchildren Bobbie Jo (Zach) Neubauer of Wells, MN, Matthew Bluhm of Albert Lea, Amiee Akemann of Albert Lea, Jacob and Lucas Akemann of Emmons; two Great Grand Children Ayrianna and Taveon. She is also survived by a sister Betty (Robert) Werner of Wells; special friends Mary and Randy Akemann of Emmons, MN, and many other family members. Edith was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gene, sister Alice Doerr and brothers Kenny and Harold Knutson, son-in-laws Greg Neubauer and Larry Meyer.
A celebration of life will be at a later date.
