Donald died Monday, August 31, 2009 at the
New
Richland
Care
Center
in New Richland, MN. He was 85 years of age.
Donald attended country school in
Steele
County
and on August 13, 1947 was united in marriage to Adeline Anderson in
Austin
,
MN
.
Donald was a member of the
First
Lutheran
Church
in Ellendale, was baptized at the
LeSueur
River
Lutheran
Church
and confirmed at the
First
Lutheran
Church
.
Donald farmed with his wife in
Berlin
Township
near Ellendale and moved to New Richland where they have lived the past 20 years.
Donald was an active member of the Farmers Union and had served as president for several years. He enjoyed going to auctions, travel, state and county fairs. He loved to spend time with his family and grandchildren.
Donald is survived by his wife Adeline of New Richland, MN; children Larry (Sharon) Reese of Owatonna, MN, Brent (Margaret) Reese of Ellendale, MN, Wayne (Linda) Reese of Ellendale, MN, and Brenda (Dennis) Hergenroder of Lonsdale, MN; Grandchildren Tamera Reese, Shane Reese, Amanda (Ryan) Beavens, Heather (Chris) Klein, Adam Reese, Nina Widlund, and Joelle Butler; Great grandchildren Parker Beavens, Jackson Beavens, Cloe Beavens, Vivian Klein, Farah Sorg, Madison Reese, Emily Dalbec, Bailey Dalbec and Brenna Dalbec; 11 step grandchildren; 10 step great grandchildren; sisters Ardella Olson of New Richland, MN, Doris Voigt of Mason City, IA, and Maxine Hanson of Albert Lea, MN; and brother Martin Reese Jr. of Grand Prairie, TX.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, brother Merle Reese, and sisters Viola Hemingway, Bernice Hendrickson and Ardis Christianson.
