CORA MARGARET PETTIT.
The funeral service for Cora Margaret Pettit of Blooming Prairie, MN will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, October 29, 2004 at First Lutheran Church, Ellendale, MN. The Reverend Arne Halbakken will officiate. Interment will be in the LeSueur River Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before service at the church.
Cora died October 27, 2004 at the Prairie Manor Nursing Home, Blooming Prairie, MN. She was 97 years old.
Cora was born in Berlin Township, Steele Co, MN on June 26, 1907, the daughter of Charles and Emelia (Nelson) Utpadel. She has lived in Berlin Township, MN, Albert Lea and most of her life in Iowa. She was married to Theolai Johnson and following his death later married Don Pettit. She had been active in the Marshall Church ladies aid and circles in Adams, MN. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends.
Cora is survived by her daughter: LeDonna Swearingen and her husband Merlyn of Ellendale, MN; grandchildren: Coleen Brekke and her husband Arlen of Ellendale, MN, Karen Cox and her husband James of Westfield, IN, Nancy Grant and her husband Bill of Overland Park, KS; 7 great grandchildren: Angie Deml, Brian Brekke, Scott Brekke, John Cox, Tom Cox, Michael Grant and Brian Grant; 7 great great grandchildren: Tayler and Tamika Brekke, Ahna Powers, Joshua Ehlen, Karissa Brekke, Brandon and Courtney Deml; sister: Wanda Vangen of New Richland, MN; many nieces and nephews.
Cora was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; brothers: George and Carl; sisters: Eva and Martha.
