Bonnie Mae Davis Obituary….





The funeral service for Bonnie Mae Davis (formerly Bonnie Borchert) will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at the Bonnerup Funeral Chapel, Ellendale. Pastor Neal Weltzin will officiate. Interment will be in the First Lutheran Cemetery , Ellendale , MN . Visitation will be from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. at the chapel.





Bonnie passed from this life on Thursday, September 25, 2008 at the Regina Home in Hastings , MN . She was 82 years old.





Bonnie was born in Austin , MN on January 2, 1926, the daughter of Elmer L. and Mabel (Fossan) Skogebo. She graduated from Owatonna High School and Nurse’s Training in Winnetka , Illinois . She lived in Ellendale area for over 35 years. She also lived in Albert Lea , Elmira , New York , and Balsam Lake , Wisconsin before moving to Hastings , MN in 2002. Bonnie had been a member of the First Lutheran Church in Ellendale , MN and Georgetown Lutheran Church in Fox Creek , Wisconsin . She was a member of the WELCA and enjoyed quilting. She also loved cooking, baking, gardening, and a good cup of coffee. Bonnie worked as a nurse in Albert Lea and Chicago . She enjoyed music, fishing, boating, and spending winters in Arizona .





Bonnie is survived by her loving husband, Allen Davis, of Hastings, MN; children: Byron (Mary) Borchert of Maplewood, MN, Patricia (Paul) Anderson of Colorado Springs, Co., Carolyn Schwarze (Alf Mildenberger) of Annapolis, MD, James (Debbie) Borchert of Fargo, ND; step children: Laura (Doug) Simcox of Louisville, KY, John (Jen) Davis of Madagascar, Andrew (Andrea) Davis of Albany, NH, Lesley Davis of Peterborough, NH; 17 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; brothers: Paul (Jan) Skogebo of Mesa, AZ and Daniel Skogebo of Killeen, TX.





Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; son, Bradley Borchert; brother, Robert Skogebo; sister, Marianne Skogebo. Bonnie was known for a wonderful sense of humor and a quick wit. She also had a deep faith and prayed for her children and grandchildren often. She left them a legacy of faith and love.
