Funeral services for Alice B. Liane will be held 11AM Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Richland, MN. Pastor Ronald Brey and Pastor Paul Andree will officiate. Visitation will be held 4-7PM Wednesday, February 25 at Bonnerup-Friedrich Chapel in New Richland, MN and again one hour prior to the service at church.
Alice B. Liane passed away Monday, February 23, 2015 at the New Richland Care Center surrounded by family. She was 89 years old.
Alice B. (Rhiger) Liane was born September 24, 1925 to Holbeck and Brita (Midlang) Rhiger in Albert Lea, Minnesota. She was raised in Albert Lea and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1943.
She attended Naeve Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1947. She was in the Naeve Alumni & Nurses Club. Alice worked at the Naeve Hospital OB/GYN floor for many years. She also worked as a nurse at Waseca Hospital and finished her nursing career at the New Richland Care Center.
Alice enjoyed crocheting, sewing, knitting, doing hardanger, and quilting for friends and family.
Alice is survived by her children, Paul Liane of Pine River, MN, David (Teresa) Liane of Albert Lea, MN, Ruth (Chuck) Schwartz of LeSueur, Mark Liane of Pine River, MN, John Liane of Shakopee, MN; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; brother, Andy (Inga) Rhiger of Albert Lea, MN; sister-in-law, Barbara Rhiger of Annandale, VA; nieces, nephews, and cousins; and dear friend, Joyce Wakefield of Hartland, MN.
She is preceded in death by husband, Wendell; parents, Holbeck and Brita; brothers, Selmer "Sam", Arthur, Stanley, and Harold.
